Remarks Surveyors comments 2017: “The vessel is generally well found and is in good overall condition with high presentation and annual maintenance routines in place” Although nearly 70 years old this vessel was originally constructed to a very high standard by a Tasmanian builder for rigorous offshore service in southern waters. The vessel was built to a standard at which the CSIRO used her for many years as the first Australian fisheries research vessel. The vessel also has numerous round Australia voyages to its credit. Her current owners Warren and Jo have been successfully working her in the tourism market in the Whitsundays for over 25 years. Derwent Hunter has consistently returned great profits throughout the years of operation. Most importantly returns have always been sufficient to guarantee maintenance to the highest standards, and return a healthy profit to the directors.
